MAL DE TIERRA |

Found object, neon tubes. 190x100x70 cm

Los Choros Town, Commune of La Higuera, Coquimbo Region, Chile. 2017

In the middle of an ecocidal mining zone, in which the environment has been systemcatically damaged, living space has diminished. The tailings have infiltrated the underground layers contaminating wells and crops, usurping the scarce water of the desert. The former harmony has given way to migration and abandonment however some characters, untouched, cling to memory, who preserve and protect the customs of the place.

With the help of the people of Los Choros town the Installation was moved during one night in March 2017 through uninhabited homes due to its proximity to tailings deposits and infrastructure abandoned by the mining industry in the area.

The work was exhibited for the first time at Centro Cultural Matta of the Chilean embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Management by One Moment Art. 2019

MAL DE TIERRA |

Objeto encontrado, tubos de neón. 190x100x70 cm

Pueblo de Los Choros, Comuna de la Higuera, Región de Coquimbo, Chile. 2017
